    Default Adsweep problems auto update

    Adsweep seems now managed by another person, great, but...

    When I install the legacy version (1.6.18.8) of the Adsweep website it gets auto-updated after a while, which should be better.

    Only, the updated version (1.6.20.x) seems less good to me, so my basic question is

    Can I prevent extensions from auto-updating?

    Yes you can, Luc. Open the extension (I use 7Zip on Windoze) and then edit the manifest.json file. Chop out the line which begins with "update_url", and re-save it. Then use Chrome to repackage it, and it'll never auto-update again.
