Is it a plugin? Or a user script or extension? What is the error message you are getting?

What version of Chrome are you running?

If you mean removing an extension, this is the way to go:

1) Type chrome://extensions/ in the omnibar
2) locate the extension you want to remove
3) click the (uninstall) buttton

Go to about:plugins in your OmniBar and find the File name field of the plugin you want to remove.
Search your system for that filename, and delete it.

If it's installed by an extension (ie. located in something like Default/Extensions/caehdcpeofiiigpdhbabniblemipncjj/1.6.3/), just uninstall that extension from chrome://extensions/

Currently there's no way to disable specific plugins. (EVEN THOUGH THE BUG HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE 2008!!) So you're stuck with uninstalling. :/

I had forgotten the name of the extension that I had installed a couple of days ago . Having no idea of how to access what plugins that were running in Chrome I came here to try and find out . This I did successfully thanks to the above posts .
I had installed Ghostery and was not pleased with the black pop up in the upper right that indicated who was watching .
Using the access copied from the above posts I was able to get into the extension and defeat the pop up but leave Ghostery running .
