I've uploaded my first extension to the official site with the all of the files contained in a directory that was zipped. All of the files are in ANSI format (without BOM).

One user had problems installing it because of an error "Error: Invalid crx header." The only resource that I've been able to come up with on this is in the chrome source: http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrom...&pathrev=22368

I have no idea what the is causing the difference in lengths in the chrome code.

Does the user have an older version of Chrome? Or perhaps a different build of it such as Iron or ChromePlus or something?

I receive an INVALID_CRX_HEADER on my website which packages chrome extensions on the fly and returns them as a response. I've put in a few delays to allow for Chrome to do it's work and create the file before I return it. I have a feeling that the invalid header error occurs because I'm opening the file before it's fully created... opinions?
