Default Looking for "open in new tab" feature/extension" like TabMixPlus for Firefox

So there are hundreds of tab extensions that do the exact same thing (redirect new tabs to URL) but I cannot find a single Chrome extension that does one very specific simple thing.

I am looking for the ability in Chrome to open new tab automatically when I click a bookmark, type an address, or click from history instead of opening link in existing tab. There are a few addons for Firefox that do this like TabMixPlus for example. **** I already know you can ctrl + click or right click and select "open in new tab" **** I am looking for an extension (or any other way) that will allow new tabs to open by the default left click.

    Thanks!

AFAIK it is not possible to do that, in a straightforward way, with Chrome Extension's API

It would be possible to "rewrite" all the pages you visit and replace all the links with links with a target attribute, but that seems... well... at best clumsy

    You can do that already.
Ctrl+Click or Middle Click to open in a new tab.
Ctrl+Shift+Click or Shift+Middle Click to open in a new tab, and focus that tab.

This works on ALL links (including the ones in the pages you mentioned), and bookmarks.

@Waha, the OP specifically explained that*:
I already know you can ctrl + click or right click and select "open in new tab".
I am looking for an extension (or any other way) that will allow new tabs to open by the default left click.

    Musta missed it, meh..
Middle click is pretty close though. :]
But yeah only possibility is rebuilding Chrome with the desired key bindings.
