They removed unsafeWindow use as I recall. User Scripts were subsequently rendered entirely useless, unless made specifically for Chrome.
They're probably still loading though, try typing chrome-user-script: followed by the filename of one of your User Scripts to see if it's loaded or not.

Yeah it means they're loading into Chrome at least. Which doesn't say anything about it actually loading for the page it's intending to match, or that the code is working in general. If the code has errors, you should get errors in the console on the pages it's supposed to match. If there aren't any errors it might not be matching the page correctly.

Hi I'm an ubernoob, I've copied the --enable-user-scripts after the quotation marks in the shortcut target path.
    I've created the 'User Scripts' folder in the directory C:\Documents and Settings\My name\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default.
I've updated to the Dev version of Chrome using channel changer (I'm using 3.0.195.21)
Yet no luck in getting the textbox additions of Blackcoil's youtube downloader on the youtube web page. Currently in the 'User Scripts' folder is youtube.user.js.

The path addition in the Chrome shortcut shouldn't read --enable-User-Scripts as opposed to --enable-user-scripts (to match my folder name) should it?

    I'm using XP

Help would be much appreciated, apologies for my ignorance.

    Hello!

Can you paste exactly what the path says (incl. your --enable-... parameter)?

Also, where did you get the userscript from (youtube.user.js). Maybe the script has been created for Firefox/Greasemonkey?

    Default Hi

    Hi Nandayo!

    The target path is "C:\Documents and Settings\myname\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --enable-user-scripts

The folder 'User Scripts' path is C:\Documents and Settings\myname\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\User Scripts

I've updated to the Dev version of Chrome using channel changer (I'm using 3.0.195.21)

I got the download from Blackcoil's youtube downloader link where he said he had made a user script instead of an extension as everyone seemed to want user scripts, maybe I did get an FF or greasemonkey link.
Perhaps I could download it again or you could direct me to another link?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Sabretruthtiger,

the paths look fine to me. You probably mean: http://blackcoil.com/youtube.user.js ?

I tried out this script and it doesn't do anything here, so I guess it's because YouTube changed something?

Take a look at Download YouTube Videos in Chrome maybe this bookmarklet helps you out?

Hope that helps a little bit...

    :-)

    Smile thanks

It's good to know it's not just me with that script! Thanks for the advice. Chrome in the developers channel seems to be a fair bit slower than normal. As I'm not seriously into hacking around with my browser, I just want to rip videos, do you think it's probably better to stick with the stable version and go with third party solutions?
If I do want to change back, would that require reinstallation or will the channel changer do the job?

    Thanks for your help.

    I suppose the channel changer would do;

please note that extensions are not supported in the current version of stable Chrome

I am not sure whether stable and dev Chrome maintains the same file structure
