Default When is an extension not an extension..?

Chrome Beta doesn't install .crx extensions as far as I can tell, regardless of shortcut switches. It loads user scripts fine though, and I'm using Lex1's Adblock+ and Flashblock without problems. However, Flashblock doesn't work in Iron, ie., it doesn't 'freeze' flash videos.

The main oddity is with .crx extensions though. Chrome Beta won't load these, but Iron does load the new Smooth Scroll extension. But it won't load any others, and gives an error saying "Invalid value for ['permissions[0]'".

Does this mean that some extensions are coded correctly, or packed correctly, and others aren't..?

Thanks Sulasno, I know that. My question was about whether some extensions are coded or packed differently, as if Iron will load the Smooth Scroll, then why not load others? (Of course whether they work after loading is another matter).

Some extensions used chrome.tabs and "permissions": ["tabs"]
