    Default Editing a CRX file?

How can you edit an existing theme, in a CRX format, to base your theme on?

I have found it easier to understand something new by looking at something existing.

Failing that, does anyone know of any theme templates that exist, with the images and such, so I can replace them all with my images and edit the manifest?

    Thanks.

you can open a .crx file with 7zip (free) .

Or, for your own working or development purposes, you can just rename the .crx file to .zip, and then any unzipping program will extract it just fine.

Also, you can get a sample theme template and sample manifest.json from:

A .crx is a .zip, so any app that opens a zip file will do.

Nope, oddly none of the zip solutions on the mac will read it. I can unzip it in the terminal, but it still works better with winzip on windows.
