added additional info on how to create themes for Dev Chrome since chrome.dll is used and default.dll is no longer used

well kinda got back into creating themes , with a test .crx using the .crx creator .

question:
using the .crx creator how do i:
change the background color for the bookmark bar ? granted, i'm not satisfied with the vast limitations of theming by .crx (buttons, top frame...), i am satisfied that when there are updates, there's a pretty simple fix for themes .

I wish you can skin buttons using crx

while browsing through the manifest.json, i noticed various references to the buttons . is there a way to simply change the color of the button's image besides the button background ? ie....
