Default Keeping up with my new Jones ('es)

    Hello All!
I am new to the community and have a lot of questions regarding
    themes and skinning for Chrome.

First off let me say how much I like this browser. It isn't at all bloated and fat
like Vista 64's Internet Exploder and it is gloriously FAST! Good Job Google!

Secondly, I would very much like to create my own skins/themes for Chrome
however I do not know where to begin. I am not even aware of the techniques
one might use to get the ball rolling and any advice would be more than app-
reciated. I do have Photoshop CS4 and a few other graphics programs I use
regularly for editing and what-not so that is a start I suppose.

Last, my biggest concern is compatability. I have been reading the forums
and it seems that every time Google updates a new build all the previous
themeing efforts go right out the window. I have an urge to keep my work
up-to-date as possible and I'd like to pass the savings on - so with this in
mind how can it be accomplished?

Thank you all for your time and I welcome hearing all your advice!

    Wink

Well, you can manually edit the theme 'default.dll' using a Ressource Hacker but thats a pain in the butt.

Someone name vhanla has created a 'Chrome Theme Creator' that can be found on his site here. To get the latest chrome build, you have to follow this thread on ChromeSpot (censured), where you will find .rc files that you download and copy in the directory of the 'Chrome Theme Creator' to be able to build them to that version. Sometimes you have to download extra image files due to the new content added to the .dll that version.

You can also try to build the .rc files, but its pretty complicated..

Thats about it! If you need other help on how to make themes, send a PM to me!
