PNG transparency issues in a crx theme

Hello, everyone!
I recently encountered some troubles with Chrome (3.0.191.0 (19349)) PNG rendering behaviour while trying to make a crx-theme.

First, i have a background PNG (non-transparent, theme_toolbar.png attachment), back|forward button PNGs (with transparent backround, back.png attachment) and a refresh button PNG (with transparent backround, reload.png).

But, as can be seen here

or in an attachment (chrome_png_troubles.jpg) when in Chrome toolbar, new things appear: color pixels over refresh button (pink, light-blue, yellow), non-existent jagged border at the bottom of the back-forward buttons.

So, my question is, are these mask PNG troubles or it is a Chrome bug?

The problem is that there are mask images inside the theme default.dll that don't allow you to modify the shape of buttons when making a .crx theme. That is one of the reasons that I stick to modifying the .dll instead of making .crx themes.

So you have two choices:

- Modify the shape of the button masks in the theme .dll so that your buttons will work with your .crx theme
or
- Create a .dll theme (<-- Its your best bet

)

...unless Waha knows a way to change masks using the .crx file, that is..
