uninstall Chrome and backup Chrome's data if necessary

depending on your OS, delete Chrome's folders

download dev Chrome

Latest Dev Version: 4.0.206.1

--enable-extensions

not necessary for the current version of dev Chrome

Shouldn't need --enable-extensions as he's on 4.0.206.1

I recently downloaded the Beta for a friend and have subsequently updated it to Dev using CCC ...

About the only thing we haven't tried is installing Google Updater ...

After following these steps I still got the same results !

WTF, My computer is so gay. I have Windows XP. Used to have Vista but it caused a lot of problems.

If your computer's being annoying in general you may just want to back all your stuff up, reformat, and reinstall windows. It degrades over time (cause it sucks :<) so you have to do that ever now and then.
With mine, it decided to stop installing MSIs and stuff..no particular reason..reformatting fixed all that. For as long as it lasted anyway.

BTW I agree with you, sounds like the machine is US and needs a reformat :-(
