    Default Making Themes...?

    I just downloaded a theme from the google page. Applied it to my chrome and it worked fine. So, I opened the crx file and edited the image files and the json file accordingly to edit the color codes. I didn't rename any of the image files, so the files in the json are of the same name.

    How do you pack the file? I zipped the 2 parts = (1 image folder and 1 json file) and then renamed the extention to .crx. Will that work or is that wrong thing to do? Anyway, when I clicked on the crx file to open with chrome, I get a "bad magic number" error. What is that about?

    I didn't change any information that was inside the original crx file...only edited the color codes and images. (no names have been changed or anything) and no files were left out of the original crx.

    Thanks.

    Every .crx file has its own code embedded into the .zips code (or something like that ) so you can't pack it up using an archive application.

    To pack it up, either use Waha's extension manager or;
    - Open up Chrome
    - Type in chrome://extensions in the omni-bar
    - Click the "Pack an extension" button
    - Choose the directory where the .json and image folder is

    You'll need to upgrade to the Dev channel..

    You can get it here.

    After you install it, you should see this:
