The java jre 6 update 13 dosen’t seem to work with chrome eaven after a re-install of both chrome and java.

guys…stop fretting, all u have to do is go to add/remove program in ur control panel and uninstall the old version of java, restart ur browser and voila!!! no need to thank me..i’m just spreading the news

I tried installing JDK 6 Update 10 from Sun. This includes a JRE but I could not get Chrome working with Java (Webstart to be precise)

Miguel - A step by step guide? OK Download This: JRE 6 Update 10 from Java.sun.com Run It, Then Close and Reopen Chrome. Pretty simple really, if you have any problems with those instructions please let me know.

Hi people.
I would like a step by-step guide. Actually I believe that if I’m migrating from other browsers, the Java installation should be one button. I already have a JVM in my machine and don’t want to download other. Also I don’t have access to video here. So I need something write. I believe that other persons face the same problem.

Here are more details about how Java 6u10 RC fails to work with the Citrix Javaclient Applet:

Error with Java 6u10 and Citrix:
Error: The connection failed: Please make sure the destination server [;40;STAD967776ECB8B;F82DCFF295EA3939EDBA7F8A3A1AC699] is listening on port [1494] and try again.

I access my work desktop by going to https://access.act.gov.au. I enter my username, password and pass code (provided by a USB stick with a digital display). The site runs the applet javaclient which boots up a view of my work desktop. This works perfectly fine with FIrefox 2, 3 and Internet Explorer 6, 7, as long as java re 6u7 is installed. As soon as I install java re 6u10 RC, the javaclient app crashes and I don’t get to see my work desktop. When I uninstall this version and go back to 6u7, it works fine on Firefox and Internet Explorer. Either way, Google chrome does not work: for 6u7 it says: no plug-in installed for 6u10 the applet crashes just like on the other browsers.

Install 6u10 Go to https://access.act.gov.au or (probably) any other Citrix dependent site. Login The applet crashes.

Uninstall 6u10 and everything works fine again.

It would be great if Chrome had autocompletion of fields, like the one of Google’s toolbar in firefox…
