Chrome Theme for Firefox

by Chrome Blog on September 11, 2008

Ok, we have already had a FireFox theme for Google Chrome so now one for the other direction. ChromiFox is a theme which enables FireFox to look like Google Chrome.

Screenshots:

ChromiFox is a bright and soft blue theme for Firefox 3 on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, inspired by the appearance of the Google Chrome web browser.

A note from the developer:

Some THIRD-PARTY EXTENSIONS will not work, but it is NOT my responsibility to reverse-engineer all of them. A lot of you have had questions regarding tabs, so LISTEN UP BEFORE YOU SPEAK UP: The tab bar will NOT be moved to the top of the window; the hack to do so is unreliable. There is a separate project, “Chrome Package,” which attempts to relocate the tab bar. I did NOT create “Chrome Package” and I have nothing to do with it.

ChromiFox has already had over 31,000 downloads. You can check it out and download it:

There is also Chrome Package which further hacks the look of FireFox however this is still experimental over at Mozilla.org which you can take a look at here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8790

This is actually a very nice theme … at least for the time being till Chrome’s issues are sorted …

Looks nice, but is there a way to hide the Menu bar and Address bar completely, so it looks just like Chrome??
