Note: This theme is not an official release by Google it was created by a third party developer. You will need to be familiar with swapping a .dll file in your Chrome installation to install this theme.
For those who like dark themes, this one will enable you to switch your default Chrome theme from blue to black. Here is a screenshot:
Installation:
1. Download the file from the download link below.
2. Extract the files from the archive using your own extraction tool. Ie: WinRAR
3. Go to: (Replacing USERNAME with your username)
Vista – C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes
XP – C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\LocalSettings\AppData\Google\Chrome\Application\0.2.149.27\Themes
And backup your existing, Default.DLL file (Just in case anything goes wrong)
4. Copy over Default.DLL from your extracted files into your Themes folder
5. Open up Chrome and walla! You have a new theme installed.
As noted above, this is a third party modification so backup your Chrome’s default.dll file in case you wish to revert or something goes wrong. Due to this being a third party release, please use at your own risk.

Works perfectly and looks awesome, thanks
Looks great, however, I would love to see the rest turn black to. Now it makes the contrast with the light blue to much, while black is mostley used to have lower the contrast with the non important parts of my screen.
Will all themes need a dll replacement? Seems kind of fragile and badly designed.

yee, smb fix it, pls
Well this theme looks really good. But it modifies color scheme of only title bar area of the application.
Isn’t there any way to apply theme on omnibar and scrollbars too?
seems to crash ver 0.3.154.9
Crash in ver 0.3.154.9
on ver 0.4.154.25 everything is red. not able to see anything
Can’t work on v:0.4.154.25
Also for me is red and bad in version 0.4.154.25 on XP
maybe is really so early to release something that will work forever!
Does not work, messed up my fresh install. I get the red crap too.
On version 1.0.154.36, get the red crap too.
With my Chrome its the same
I’ve the latest version 1.0.154.48.
me too. i am using w7 though. got red
clearly changing themes will not require this dll to be changed in the future because there is a theme folder and the one that it comes with is called default. Google just wants the functional elements of chrome to be perfected before they enable changing themes.
Does not work with my newest version… Ive tried
there seems to be no such Themes folder and theres no deafult.dll anymore.. like they removed it or sth… please make a new one
