Back in 2012, changing Google’s background wallpaper was discontinued for a smoother experience for the users. With Chrome themes, users can now easily customize the look of their browser’s homepage. Those who are weary with the simple white look offered by Google Chrome can opt to change its background image to make it look more elegant.
Chrome themes make your web experience look different, allowing you to achieve a certain degree of customization. In Chrome webstore, you can find hundreds of themes that can eliminate the Google logo, leaving only the desired modifications and the search bar.
How to set the theme
Start by clicking on the three lines icon (hamburger icon) located in the right corner at the top.
Then select Settings, where you need to scroll down to hit Get themes under Appearance. Once you click Get themes, you will be directed to the webstore, from where you can select the theme of your choice. You can also search for promotional materials, brands, add Get lucky buttons, and more. After finding the theme of your choice, you can set it as your preferred theme by choosing Add to Chrome. The installation will start once its compatibility is verified.
To disable or delete a set theme and change to default, you can head into Settings, and then Appearance section to click Reset to default theme.
