I found the latest Google Chrome Portable Version, with which you can run Google Chrome without installing it. It would helpful if you are working on multiple computers and want to use Google Chrome as your browser but dont want to go through the entire installation. You can run it right off the USB without installing it. Just unpack the attachment and run it.
All the program settings are saved in “Chrome” folder and all the user settings are saved in “Profile” folder.
Some of the Features of Google Chrome Portable :
- Everything in One Box
- Application Shortcuts
- Instant Bookmarking
- NewTabs Page
- Dynamic Tabs
- Safer Browsing
- Crash control
- Incognito Mode
- Import Settings

I want Google Chrome portable. Please let me have it for free.
Rawlings – Google chrome Portable is for free. No one is charging you anything to download it. The download link is already given, just click on it and download it.
Yes totally free, just download it they have even hosted it here so you don’t need to worry about trying to download from those free hosting sites most people cannot access.
Thanks for this USB version of Chrome, it’s the latest version too just tested it!
Hi, thanks very much for making this – it’s just what I need to get round the annoying per-user install issue with Chrome (my PCs are too locked-down to allow it to install).
I have a question. How do you specify the location where the user settings are kept? Is this hard-coded into the program, or is there a file or reg-key that can be edited to change it? I ask because I’m interested in trying to set up a multi-user install.
Heh, never mind. Just found the command-line switch to do it. I should really google a bit more before asking questions 😉
Thanks again!
Hi robin,
perhaps would you like to share that command-line switch? It would be really helpful for us.
Is this usable on Windows 2000, even though Chrome is not officially supported on that platform?
That is one great utility thing that you have enlightened us with. Have to say it is really one thing to vouch for, if you use chrome….
Although Google Chrome is very basic & simple, but that’s I want. I am finding Firefox & IE to be slower than before. It’s a great alternative.

I am not able to install it in office. I got binary from some where but it does not open any webpage. We are behind a proxy which uses a script for proxy. Both IE and Firefox 3 are just fine. Guess that Chrome jumped too fast!

Does it leave registry keys on the computer?
Please post and then track the version, so that people don’t end up downloading old version(s).
Shame on ‘us’ and/or administrators for not updating this string.

Would anyone happen to know of any add-ons available for the USB version?
to get Flash (assuming you have the latest update for the default browser on the computer):
-Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
-Copy the files NPSWF32_FlashUtil and NPSWF32.dll
-Go to X:\PortableApps\Chrome\App\Chrome-bin and create the folder Plugins
-Paste the files in there and you’re good to go.
On the same subject does anyone know what needs to be done to get java working? I installed the portable version in several places but it crashes while trying to load.
When launching the portable version, Commodo Defense+ says that the exe is attempting to open regedit.exe
If I let it do it, nothing happens and chrome doesn’t launch
What’s going on?
Wtf, why is it the guy dosnt update this, lastest version is 4.1
When I copied the .7z file from the .zip I got a message from my anti-virus software saying that it removed autorun.inf (W32.Downadup!autorun)
Is this known by anyone else?
Just noticed that the extension is actually .exe.7z for the file that was copied over instead of just a .exe as found in the .zip
Thanks for shared link download Google Chrome USB Version
my school system doesnt let me run programs from my memory stick or from my school space, do i have to put it on the C:\ for it to work?
Thank you so much! No I can use this at school and what not!

@Zain Go to file, new and make a compressed folder and place it into it and run it from there.
It is however well worth it to undertake replacing all them and glasss
